Terms of Use

CaseZero is a work of interactive fiction. Case #0001 (“THE LAST GUEST”) is playable free of charge and does not require an account. Cases #0002 to #0004 are offered as a one-time “Case Pack 01” for a fixed fee of €12.99 including any applicable VAT.

There is no subscription. There is no auto-renewal. A purchase of Case Pack 01 unlocks the three additional cases on the purchasing account, and can be accessed on any device where you sign in.

You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account or make a purchase. Accounts are created through Google Sign-In: we do not maintain a separate password for you and do not store your Google credentials.

You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure. We may suspend or terminate access for abuse, fraud, chargebacks, or activity that undermines the integrity of the game.

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to play CaseZero for your own private, non-commercial entertainment. You may not resell case content, scrape hidden game state, or publicly distribute solutions, dialogue outputs, or internal canonical materials in a way that spoils the experience for others during the initial launch window.

Suspect replies during interrogation may be produced dynamically by a large language model. The canonical facts of every case — who did it, why, and how — are decided deterministically by our server and cannot be altered by AI output. See our AI disclosure for detail.

Purchases are processed by Stripe. We use Stripe’s tax-management service, which calculates, collects and remits applicable VAT on our behalf. The price shown at checkout is the final price you pay.

You warrant that the payment method you use is yours and that all information you provide to complete a purchase is accurate.

Case Pack 01 is digital content delivered immediately after payment. At checkout you are asked to expressly consent to immediate performance and to acknowledge that, once delivery has begun, your statutory right of withdrawal under EU consumer law no longer applies to the delivered content. Before completing checkout you must tick the box confirming this consent. Without that tick, the purchase does not proceed.

We do our best to keep CaseZero available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update, add to or occasionally remove case content, features or the visual design, provided this does not materially degrade an existing paid product.

To the maximum extent permitted by law our aggregate liability to you arising out of your use of CaseZero is limited to the total amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits statutory rights that cannot be limited under Belgian consumer law.

These terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. Consumer disputes may also be submitted to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr).
